Every month you create a list of the users on your network
- with their first and last name, their login name, and the amount of time
they have been logged on the network for the month.
To keep track of your network users, create a list that
includes the following column headings: Employee Name, Login Name, Usage Time.
Set left tabs for the Employee Name and Login Name columns and set a center
tab for the Usage Time column. You determine the tab settings. Bold the column
headings.
To set a left tab on the Ruler (located at the top
of your page and below your toolbars) make sure the left alignment symbol
(L) displays in the Alignment button.
Position the mouse pointer just below the tick mark
(the marks on the Ruler) where you want the tab symbol to appear, and
then click the left mouse button. When you set a tab on the Ruler, any
default tabs to the left are automatically deleted by Word.
The center alignment tab on the Ruler is set in a
similar manner, except you must make sure the center alignment symbol
(looks like an upside down T) is displayed on the Alignment button. With
the alignment tabs set, all you have to do is click the tab key to position
your cursor at the point when filling in your usage list.
Add a title above your usage list (example: October Network
Users) centered and bold.
Create a list of 10 make-believe people with the above
information. Use first and last names for the Employee Name column (type the
last name first i.e. Jones, Bob). Include at least two employees with the
same last name. Create a 6 character Login Name, and use numbers in hours
for the Usage Time column.
